Mundane Monday Challenge: rainy day

Our rainy days are absolutely Ipad free and we don’t have TV. But we have a big box full of crayons, many stories of courageous princes and beautiful princesses and we love cooking.

Last week end, the fragrances of the cookies were floating in the living room.. The kids were busy colouring and as I was pouring their milk, I literally felt my heart smile. I am so blessed not to have to work (yet) and spend so much time with my 2 Attilas. Yes, we are still in pyjamas at noon, we made cookies for lunch, the house is far from being spotless and the laundry hasn’t moved an inch. But it feels sooo good! We love rainy days!

In response to the Mundane Monday Challenge created by the super talented Jithin to find beauty in almost everything. The challenge is simple : find beauty in everyday mundane things, capture the beauty and upload the photographs. See you there too!

    1. Me too! I rediscovered the joy of colouring with a book called “Secret Paris”. I feel like I am wandering back home, it is so relaxing and I love the results. There’s a page on French pastries and sweets that is really mouth watering. As I was colouring, I could almost taste them …

Ms Attila asked if she could color with me, so we are now sharing the book, she is colouring the left pages and me the right, and it’s fun to realise that she is indeed much more Asian than French. Most of the veggies were totally foreign to her, let alone the cakes and the most common candies.. I almost swallowed my flag when she asked if the macaron was like a mango float 😛

      1. Your coloring book sounds great! Food! French food! I am coloring nature scenes these days … much better for the waistline. Haha. Very sweet to be coloring with your daughter; I wish mine were home all the time to color with, too!

    1. Thanks so much, I am so glad you could feel this too 🙂 Blessed are those times when I don’t (yet) need my phone to call my kids!

    1. Thanks a lot! We spend hours colouring, especially since I discovered the beautiful collection of colouring books for adults. They are said to “colour your way to calm” and I can assure it works..
Heaps of peeling pencils are the best indicators of a relaxing rainy day at home 😉

    1. Thanks dear Ann 🙂 Now that I am looking at the pic from another angle, I think of creative ways to use those peeling pencils.. Don’t they look like tutus? I think I just found another way to keep the kids busy next time it rains 😉

      1. Look at my lame attempts first 😛 resolution of February : 2 decent pic for Mundane Monday 😌

      2. The kids and I have been sick in bed for a week now! hope I can finally get started next week 😛

    1. What a beautiful comment my dear Fabio, to kick start the week 🙂 Soon enough your house will be full of those peels pencils again, the ones of the Awesome Ambassador ❤
