4 tips to guarantee a great wedding

A wedding ring is the smallest handcuff ever made. Choose your prison mate wisely”.

Assuming you got this one right, you need a bit more to plan a great wedding:

How about the bridesmaids? The venue? The master of ceremony? The guests?

  1. Qualities of the bridesmaids: inspired, passionate, motivated, grateful and open minded

Whoever said planning your wedding is the best time in your life was on some serious drugs! Especially when you are organising your own wedding in 2 months..

So choose your bridesmaids carefully, make sure they are fun, caring and hyper patient. I still can’t believe how fortunate I am for the beautiful ones who accepted the job!

Meet the dream duo of BFF:  My coolissima friend Sara. Screen Shot 2017-09-05 at 17.30.31She was on the verge of giving birth when we were dress and shoes hunting. And her precious little boy waited till I got fully dressed to show up. Talk about a sense of empathy, and sense of priority! We talked almost every day, met every week, and I still can’t believe how many hours of shopping she had to endure ! Thanks so much supermama ❤️

My sister .. there is no word shiny enough to describe how much I love her! We do see each other when I’m back home, but never enough. The wedding planning has been such a chance to get much more together. She is much more than a sister, she is the special friend you are so proud to have. 21231087_10155453978536138_1348291207392662131_nThe kind of person who takes the best of you, always and make you thrive to be a better person.

  1. Let your heart guide you to your dreamed place

I always known the kind of wedding I wanted: rustic, simple, with a garden and old trees, where our guests could sleep over so we can have them for a whole weekend.

Months ago, I had seen a beautiful picture of a farm not too far from my hometown and felt in love with it. We were still living in the Philippines so I asked Sara if she could check it out. She was on a seminar and called me a few days later “ you ll love the place we were staying at for the wedding! I already talked prices with the owner !”

Guess what? It was the same place : La Pepiniere !

If you are dreaming to tight the knot in France – or renewing your vows, check this piece of heaven: Damien (the owner) is a magician who can grant all (my) wishes : the laic ceremony in the garden, how to make sky lanterns fly properly, the delicious wedding diner (and brunch!) .We never felt we were on any business deal with him. Right from the start, he has been a precious (and calm!) friend, and at the end of the fiesta, he was part of the family!

  1. If you opt for a laic ceremony, leave it all to your master of ceremony
My siblings! My tribe <3
My siblings, my tribe

Our master of ceremony could only be my little brother, Jules (with the beard). When I offered him the job he asked if he would be granted all the freedom to prepare without any censorship. He knows I could be a bit OCD but I trust his ways with all my heart: My brother and I have the exact same sense of humor, to the despair of our parents. He has this unique talent to find the stupid words that will crack me up right away. Although we can also limit to facial expressions to speak to each others.

So many beautiful surprises, so much emotion I would need a book to resume. This one was sooooo great! Can’t believe my own kids kept the secret until the wedding! and talk about special guests my brother got from the US and UK ..

  1. Invite only the ones you truly love

The older I get, the more I realize that one can be honest, kind and real while still understanding not everyone deserves a seat at the table of your life. So it was a great thing that La Pepiniere couldn’t host more than 50 guests.

There are friends, there is family. And then there are our friends that become family. They were all here! This stunning group of people, each a unique masterpiece sharing unconditional love and endless hugs. Can’t wait to renew our vows 😉
