My 5 year old son is definitely not an early bird. But this Sunday was different.
He started jumping on our bed even before sunrise, as excited as if we were about to travel to France. “Wake up Mum, wake up !!! It’s Mothers’ Day, wake up!!”
As much as I loved the intention, 6:15 on a Sunday was a bit early. I traded my phone and my 4 colors pen for another hour of sleep. 30 mn later, he was back even more excited “Mum, it’s 6 dot dot 4 and 5, you have to wake up!!!“. I gave up, his excitement was the loudest. Unbeatable.
He didn’t even give me the time to sit. “Look, look, I made this for you. I did it all by myself!”
And here was my present, “made with things I have collected in the house”: an old candy box, some of the smileys we used for an art and craft projects last month, and stickers for my essential oils sprays. It’s called “super smiley box so you remember to smile all the time. And in case you forget, I also wrote something you love on the side“:
Icing on the cake,
Best make up ever is to know that even on a super early Sunday, my son thinks I am “asam” ❤
Double dose of pure pride and happiness when my civilized daughter, who had the decency to wait until 7 AM to jump on our bed, came with this masterpiece:
My heart is full ! Happy Mothers Day ❤
Absolutely “Priceless”!! Thank you for sharing Estelea 🙂 When after working for the better part of my son’s life I quit work for his Senior year people thought I was crazy! Sweetest year ever. We both knew it was the end of his season in school with college and life before him. I would not trade a single day for any amount of money. Embrace and enjoy your children. One can feel their joy shining through you. Blessings.
Heartfelt thanks dear for this beautiful comment. Sometimes we just need a little reminder that yes, time flies and we are so privileged to be able to be there at the milestone moments 🙂 You are totally right, those moments are so special and a drawing or one of those “awsam” note are the best reminders of how blessed we are ❤
Many blessings all the way from Hanoi. Have a sweet week !
The gifts are priceless. Be happy to be proud mom. Cheers.
Thanks Ji 🙂 Best job ever indeed, eventhough there is nothing like a day off. But the salary is definitely worth it! Have a nice week 🙂
Very true. No one can pay salary to one’s mother. That currency is yet to be created. 😃
We are actually the ones paying unconditional love for the privilege to have the job, aren’t we ? 😉
Absolutely.
Oh, how I miss those little home-made Mother’s Day gifts and notes! I did get a very sweet card from one kid this year and equally loving calls from the others, but that childish scrawl and inventive gift-making is the best! (Not so much the early morning wake-ups!) Glad you had a good and special day with your angels!
Well I was not super fresh, but at least super happy 🙂 One of my little yoginis from the kids yoga class offered me a note the other day with “I love you and I love yoga”. So precious! when do men start losing this adorable spontanity? 😉 Happy belated one dear (the French one was on Sunday) XXX
